Learn what it takes to be an Amateur Entomologist by exploring the work of insects! The Bug Club is an educational mini-series that explores the anatomy, life-cycles and the natural history of bugs though engaging activities, bug excursion in the Greenbelt, and live insect demos! 
Have you ever chased butterflies, collected fireflies, observed moths or rolled a log to see what lies beneath?  Insects are the largest group of animals on earth with nearly one million different kinds. And, this first meeting will explore just what makes a Bug-a-Bug! Suitable for ages five and up.

The Greenbelt Conservancy is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1989. The Conservancy is dedicated to promoting conservation, preservation and public awareness of the Greenbelt, a 2800-acre collection of public parks and natural areas in the heart of Staten Island. The Greenbelt is one of New York City's flagship parks and includes: High Rock, Willowbrook and LaTourette Parks; over 30 miles of hiking and walking trails; and meadows, lakes, marshlands and old growth forests.
