WORM COMPOSTING (VERMICOMPOSTING)
Do you live in a space that won't allow outdoor composting bins? Are you already an expert in traditional composting and want a new challenge? Come check out this free worm composting class to learn how to create a nutrient-rich organic fertilizer with the help of eco-friendly earthworms!
Becca Knutson, TAFB's Community Garden Coordinator will guide the class through the steps of putting together a small, simple vermicomposting system that can be stored inside the home.
Registered workshop participants will be provided with:

One 10-gallon (or smaller) storage bin with tight-fitting lid, similar to this one

Workshop participants may bring:

One sandwich bag of fruit/vegetable kitchen scraps, frozen or fresh (no citrus)
Several sheets of newspaper

The materials above will be enough to make one vermicomposting system. Space for this workshop is limited. Be sure to reserve your spot today!
Workshop held in partnership with Keep Grand Prairie Beautiful's Community Garden Program.
