Wednesday, 20. March 2019, Manchester Center, CVIIC Health Task Force Meeting: Environmental Justice

It's women's history month, so it couldn't be more appropriate to have two of the valley's most dedicated and energetic environmental justice champions- Nayamin Martinez, Director of the Central California Environmental Justice Network and Erica Fernandez Zamora, Director of Organizing for the Community Water Center speak to us.   This CVIIC Health Task Force meeting will be  held in partnership with the Latino Coalition for a Healthy California (LCHC) and Mi Familia Vota.

You may recall that last year we partnered to hold a series of trainings to develop a cadre of local health advocates.  These health ambassadors were trained in advocacy, communications and community organizing.  They had a particular interest in issues at the intersection of health and the environment and began to develop an action plan. As a follow-up, we are inviting Nayamin and Erica to discuss key health policy and advocacy priorities for the Central Valley at the intersection of environmental justice.  Rebecca Alcantar of LCHC will also talk more about the health ambassadors program and opportunities for you or your organization's community members to engage in future trainings and activities.
