Learn distinguishing characteristics of common plant families which will make plant id more successful and fun. Plant materials will be available for a close look. Handouts available. This is a particularly useful class for those new to botany and plant identification.
Trainer: Lenore Mitchell started teaching NPM courses in 2006. She is the president of Metro Chapter Colorado Native Plant Society. She also has taught for DU Olli and has led hikes for DBG, Roxborough State Park and CoNPS.
Optional Text (Recommended): Flora of Colorado by Jennifer Ackerfield. Available through CONPS bookstore (), local and online retail outlets.
Native Plant Master: This class is recommended for those with basic botany background who would like to learn more about Colorado's plant families. It does not count towards Colorado Flora Certificate or certification as a Native Plant Master. 
When to meet: Please arrive by 12:45 PM at CSU Extension in Douglas County, 410 Fairgrounds Road, Castle Rock CO 80104 (see map). Class begins 1:00 PM sharp.
