Wednesday, 13. February 2019, Jewish Family Service of Greater Dallas, It’s About Ability: Techniques for meeting the needs of students with diverse abilities and interests

Wednesday, February 13, 2019
from 7:00pm - 9:00pm

Ensuring students with such diverse abilities and interests master the same concepts and skills is one of the many challenges teachers ****. One instructional method incorporating such a philosophy is Differentiated Learning, which allows teachers to meet the needs of students with differing abilities by changing what students learn (content), how they retain the information (process), how they demonstrate knowledge of skills (product), and with whom and where learning happens (learning environment). While this method of instruction sounds ideal in theory, in practice, differentiated instruction can be complicated by other teacher-related stressors, such as limited time for planning and instruction, large classes, and limited adjunct support, amongst others. This presentation will focus on working efficiently to recognize diverse learners and include techniques for putting differentiated instruction into practice.
