Friday, 15. March 2019, Trinity Church of Austin, Matter of Heart: film on C.G. Jung's journey into the soul of man

The Jung Society of Austin will be screening the film Matter of Heart. After the film, we will explore both personal and theoretical aspect of Jungian work.
Matter Of Heart is a compelling and inspiring film portrait of Carl Gustav Jung, a man whose extraordinary genius and humanity reached far beyond the sometimes exclusive realm of psychiatry into redefining the essential nature of who we are and what we hope to become. More than a linear biography, the film presents a fuller perspective on this analyst, healer, friend and mentor, through the skillful interweaving of rare home movies, valuable archival footage and a wealth of interviews with such notables as Sir Laurens van der Post, Marie-Louise von Franz and Joseph Henderson, M.D.
Nancy Dougherty will lead the discussion.
Nancy Dougherty, LCSW is a Diplomate Jungian Analyst in private practice in Austin Texas.  A graduate of the C.G Jung Institute of Chicago, Nancy is a training analyst and former Director of Training in the InterRegional Society of Jungian Analysts and coauthor with Dr. Jacqueline West of The Matrix and Meaning of Character: An Archetypal and Developmental Approach, Searching for the Wellsprings of Spirit. Currently, she is on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Analytic Psychology.  She is in private practice in Austin.
