Ginny provides an evidence-based approach to inform your practice and care of children with special needs. Evidence provided from clinical studies is referenced in addition to her years of personal experience. You will leave the course with a better understanding of the connection between independent mobility and cognition as well as managing tonal patterns and positively impacting hip development through therapeutic protocols for standing and walking.

8:00 am- 8:30 am Course Registration, Reception
8:30 am –11:45 pm Learning to Walk; Walking to Learn = 0.3 CEU’s (15 min break provided)
Learning Objectives:
•Be able to describe the evidence supporting Gait Trainer Use
•Be able to determine a child’s GMFCS Level
•Be able to write measurable achievable functional goals for a specific child in a gait trainer
Lunch 11:45- 12:45
12:45 pm – 4:00 pm Get On Your Feet = 0.3 CEUs (15 min break provided)
Learning Objectives:
•Be able to describe 3 research articles and their evidence for standing
•Be able to describe how many degrees of abduction in standing is optimal for hip formation
•Be able to write 3 measurable achievable functional goals for a specific child in a stander

Courses are approved for CEUs with Texas PT Association, California PT Association and University of Pittsburgh IACET approved.
