Friday, 10. February 2017, Seattle, Original music inspired by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's Americanah

The Bushwick Book Club Seattle presents Original Music Inspired by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s Americanah. This novel is a powerful story of race, identity and love. Our two characters find themselves on different sides of the world, separated not only by an ocean, but by a political unrest that makes reconnection nearly impossible. Adichie has painted a provocative picture of immigrant experience, racial climate in America, and the effects of single-story perspectives. The Bushwick Book Club Seattle musicians and artists will dive into this book to express what inspires them from this award-winning novel.

The author will not be on-hand for the event.

Our performers include JR Rhodes, Goodsteph, Nottingham/Wicks, Shontina Vernon and more…

Presented by The Bushwick Book Club Seattle and The Elliott Bay Book Company

The Bushwick Book Club Seattle is not your run of the mill book club. Much like any, we act upon the urge to read and to have discussions about what we read. But we found that this was not enough for us. When we read books, we also want to write songs about them. And when we write songs, we like to perform them for an audience. Our mission is to deliver literature, music, and songwriting to the Seattle community while building the next generation of musicians and readers.
