Friday, 29. March 2019, Shiley Theatre, Rimsky Korsakov’s "Scheherazade"

The Greater San Diego Chamber Orchestra presents Rimsky Korsakov’s Scheherazade.  The concert will also feature two music majors from the University of San Diego and two winners from the 2019 Music Teachers Association of California (MTAC) Concerto Competition.
USD student Elizabeth Tin-Maung, violin, will perform Vittorio Monti’s Czardas.  Elizabeth is a violin student of Edmund Stein.  USD student Daniel Campbell, viola, will perform Max Bruch’s Romanze.  Daniel is a viola student of Ramon Negron.
Youchae Bae, piano, 1st place winner of Piano Division I, will perform the first movement of Haydn’s Concerto in D Major.  Youchae is a piano student of Sun Yung Cho.
Alexis Wu, piano, 1st place winner of Piano Division III, will perform the third movement of Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 27 in Bb Major, K. 595.  Alexis is a piano student of Alex Mirolyan.
The concert will be conducted by Dr. Angela Yeung, with guest conductors Ramon Negron and Dr. Jeff Malecki.
