Friday, 24. May 2019, The Hawthorne Barn, The Art Colony: A Historic Walking Tour with David Dunlap (Tour 1)

You can often tell who’s visiting for the first time. They’re the ones who ask for the whereabouts of this “art colony” they’ve heard so much about. Of course, the answer is “Everywhere you look!” In our 90-minute walk, we’ll explore the close connections between the history of the town and the lives of the artists who have made it their home. Guide David Dunlap, a longtime journalist for the New York Times, is the author of the encyclopedic book Building Provincetown.
This is the ticket link for one of the four tours being offered between Friday, May 24 and Monday, May 27.

Note: Each tour will be limited to seven participants. These tours sold out quickly last year, so waste no time in securing your space.

David Dunlap has covered the built environment of New York City for The New York Times since 1981: infrastructure, architecture, engineering, landmarks, public spaces, and transportation — including Macy’s wooden escalators. His reporting since 2003 has concentrated on the redevelopment of the World Trade Center. He also serves as the keeper of Times history. Dunlap's books include Building Provincetown and From Abyssinian to Zion.
