Tuesday, 15. January 2019, Jacobs Center For Neighborhood Innovation COMMUNITY ROOM, The Future of Dance in San Diego

The public facing profile of the greater San Diego region is growing ever more diverse socio-economically, ethnically, culturally.  San Diego has long been known to be a transient city with people and influences and ideas coming and going with a steady population of residents interested and invested in quality of life which local arts & culture contributes to.
Dance as a field unto itself can be seen as not much different.
Still, if a dance artist wants to both live and work in San Diego and preferably remain creative, profit from their creativeness what are some of the essential and even dare we say traditional ways paired with inventive ways to go about that? Ways which are parallel to how traditional non artistic businesses initiate, accumulate and sustain levels of success both monetary and cultural.
The idea of an artist being able to sustain themselves through their art doesn't have to be elusive and there are many local examples of that which are just as diverse as the people living here.
This 4 week series, led and moderated by Founding Director of The PGK DANCE Project Peter G. Kalivas will bring into full transparent view live examples that not only reveal how relatively easy versions of artist's benefitting from their creative output can exist in our region, but also share immediately applicable tools and strategies alongside and inspired by special guest speakers revealed each night that participants can employ right away.

A DIFFERENT Surprise Guest Speaker/Contributor Each Week and revealed that night.

A DIFFERENT TOPIC Each Week. First topic revealed a week in advance then next topic at each session.

*We are soliciting topics too at: Admin@ThePGKProject.org

There is tremendous potential for evolution and growth in our region's dance community. Space for every point of view, aesthetic and purpose as their are people who live here sharing similar interests.
The goal of this series is to empower and inform. To provide tangible input, information and tools. Promote and inspire collaborations and guidance to ways of funding your ideas and bringing your concepts to fruition whether long or short term.
This is FREE to all and not exclusive to dance artists as the discussions will easily translate beyond.
